Jawahar Foundation- Satisfying the hunger of underprivileged people in India

The problem of food insecurity and malnutrition has existed in India for many years. The latest 2022 Global Hunger Index ranks the country 107th, up from 101 last year.

Although the Global Hunger Index report presents data on the improvement in infant mortality and child stunting, it also highlights a sharp increase in the population of malnourished children and child wasting.

Other than that, the latest SOFI (State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World) estimated that around 56 million people in India are food insecure. This suggests that more than 40 percent of the country is severely food insecure.

Although the government has developed commendable programs like Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), POSHAN Abhiyan, Anganwadi programs etc., India still has a long way to go to become a food secure country.

On a positive note, the country has shown some improvements in food insecurity thanks to the persistent efforts of the government and other food NGOs in India. The National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS-5) from 2019 to 2021 shows a decrease in malnutrition among children and women.

The main problem of food insecurity is not only the quantity of food, but also its quality and the nutritional value that can be derived from it. There are several free food NGOs in the country such as Narayan Seva Sansthan who are taking initiatives to provide quality and nutritious food to underprivileged people.

With the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in 2019, many people lost their income and access to basic necessities like food and healthcare. Therefore, the least we can do as individuals to help them is the least we can do to support them.

Jawahar Foundation is one of the Food NGOs in India that works for providing food to the underprivileged people in Rajasthan. The Jawahar Foundation strives to solve the problem of food security and eradicate hunger in Rajasthan. With this in mind, he founded a community kitchen called Swabhiman Bhoj, which serves healthy, nutritious and clean meals to all on just Re 1. their income or status.

The Jawahar Foundation which is currently operating in Ajmer, Banswara, Bhilwara and Jaipur (Rajasthan) has served more than 2,00,000 meals in just 9 months. The Jawahar Foundation also plans to expand the community kitchen service to other cities in Rajasthan.

Ngo’s Working towards Food and Donating Food to the Needy

Today's challenge is not a lack of Food; it is about making Food always available to all who need it. Hunger kills more people yearly than AIDS, malaria, and terrorism combined. Every 10 seconds, a child dies of hunger every 10 seconds. 82% of hungry people live in countries with food surpluses, not food shortages. One in eight people sleeps hungry every night. One-third of the Food produced over the world is never eaten. There are 850 million hungry in the world.

To eradicate hunger in Rajasthan, the Jawahar Foundation, an NGO working for Food for the needy, has launched a community kitchen called Swabhiman Bhoj, which serves nutritious and clean meals for everyone at Rs 1. Currently operating in Ajmer, Banswara, Bhilwara, and Jaipur and have served nearly 200,000 meals in just nine months. Where Can You Donate for COVID-19 Relief?

An unexpected turn of events or the disruption of daily life or the sudden change is what was known as normal can impact not just an individual but the entire community on an irreversible level; in the case of COVID-19, the entire world known to mankind! Since the November of 2019, things have been rather tough and it would take years to either get back to like it was before or get used to the “new normal”.

Even in times like this, the human instinct is to help others. While COVID-19 had its restrictions in terms of social distancing, we, as humans, still managed to help our communities in whichever way was possible, the easiest being donating online to a charity organisation or NGO working for COVID-19 relief. Established NGOs created a separate section of work, especially for COVID-19 relief and have been working relentlessly towards undoing the ills that came with the illness like loss of jobs, loss of livelihood, disruption of daily life, and mostly, the loss of life, that affected the entire world deeply, while new NGOs were formed to specially cater to fighting COVID-19 related issues.

Jawahar Foundation is an NGO that works towards providing support as well as sustainable solutions to the people. Operating in cities across Rajasthan: Ajmer, Banswara, Jaipur and Bhilwara, this NGO has been working towards a good today and a better tomorrow since October 2019. It was established by Riju Jhunjhunwala who is a renowned patron and a businessman from the LNJ Bhilwara Group. Having carried out more than a whopping 200 programs since it began its operations, Jawahar Foundation sure does know what it’s doing and how to do it!

If you are looking to donate to an NGO working for COVID-19 relief, head over to www.jawaharfoundation.com to do the good deed! Any NGO, no matter how large-scale, requires funds not just from big organisations but also from the individuals of the community to keep its daily functioning active and dwell into newer projects to develop the community and make it a better place for our future generations.

Jawahar Foundation takes up short term projects as well as medium terms projects in mainly 5 sectors in order to have an immediate impact on them; the 5 verticals are:

1.      Healthcare

2.      Education

3.      Water & Environment

4.      Food Security

5.      Employment Generation

Even though they are 5 different sectors, developing each of these automatically helps with COVID-19 relief and helps reverse the damages done by the deadly virus!

Fight Against Poverty and Assist Underprivileged

With Jawaharlal Foundation donate online for poor takes initiatives to remove poverty and assist underprivileged. Some of the ways which the charitable organization follows are:

1. Challenge ideas and assumptions

2. Create awareness/get informed

3. Donate funds and time & find volunteer opportunities

To remove poverty,

the aim of Jawahar foundation is to set up industries and promote entrepreneurship through skill learning centers, to generate employment.

Ways that Jawahar Foundations adopt to assist underprivileged are:

Donating via NGOs

To give the context of how you can improve via NGOs, let’s take an example of a New Delhi based NGO, Lok Kalyan Samiti. They have been working for the unprivileged section for quite some time now.

With their ‘Sponsor a child’ initiative, they have provided essential treatments and education to the children. Additionally, free healthcare campaigns, General medical services, etc. are provided by this Delhi based NGO.

In short, the initiative of Lok-Kalyan Samiti, in particular, to help the unprivileged is commendable. You can donate a brick (figuratively) to such NGOs to build the bridge between the highly privileged and the deprived.

Donating food and other necessary things

Giving money to NGOs is a good thing, maybe the best thing. However, if you have time, donating directly to the underprivileged connects us more on an emotional level.  Therefore, directly help the needy by giving them food and other necessary things like clothes, money, and other household items.

Educating them

Donating them is a good cause, but the effect is temporary.  As the famous proverb reads, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

In short, what I am trying to say is – education is the only way out. Either you can financially help the needed by paying their education fees, or you can directly teach them. You can sponsor a child in India here.

Come visit Jawahar Foundation the best NGO in Jaipur and make a donation today.

Spread the Awareness

Awareness can change anything. With the mass media, social media, open mics, and many more means of public communications, you can spread the understanding about the needs of unprivileged, and add them with your journey in helping the needy.

On the other hand, awareness must be spread amongst the underprivileged and less educated as well. Educating them about laws, fundamental rights, proper medical care, etc. can be a boon in their lives.

They are working in building and setting up skill development centers to upskill the people of Ajmer and Bhilwara. At these centers people are skilled in the areas of computer literacy, vocational skills and basic education. The emphasis is on the skill development for women to make them independent and stand in the society.

The socio-economic steps must be taken to improve the financial status of millions of households across the country. India’s children suffer the most due to the poverty crisis that continues to affect thousands of small towns and villages. Their future is often compromised due to the lack of basic facilities and infrastructure for education and development. This NGO Save the Children has been working very hard to provide education to the underprivileged children of the country. The NGO has been implementing long-term programs for thousands of Indian children, to help them have a better future. Make a donation today and do your bit for the society. This will not only help the country as a whole, but will also give you a lot of happiness and satisfaction.

Needy Get the best Help from These Different NGOs

NGOs generally refer to organizations that are not part of the government and are not traditional for-profit companies. These organizations are non-profit and intend to fight for social purposes. NGOs play an important role in the social development of a nation, nation, or community and one of the best NGO in Rajasthan for the needy people. It is very important to educate and be sensitive to people about their rights and obligations in order to properly develop a particular country or region. We must warn people against fraudsters and hypocrites. It is the role of political parties that generally tend not to play effectively.

It will be a bridge between the victim and the governor. Charity foundations in India play an important role in supporting the legitimate demands of the general public and try to help those in need as much as possible. NGOs reflect the diversity of society itself through activities in a wide range of fields such as environment, health, poverty reduction, cultural arts and education. We also support society by empowering citizens and encouraging bottom-up change. In some cases, NGOs become poor spokes persons and seek to influence government policies and programs on behalf of NGOs.

The activities of NGOs include, among other things, environmental, social, advocacy and human rights activities. They can work broadly or very locally to promote social or political change. NGOs play an important role in social development, community improvement and promotion of public participation.  NGOs are primarily responsible for spreading education to the general public and raising awareness of their rights. This is the biggest role and the biggest challenge for NGOs. NGOs are calling for large-scale changes that are indirectly facilitated by the influence of the political system. Charity foundations in India have an efficient and effective expert member who can inform and motivate supporters and need to plan and host demonstrations and events to maintain their goals in the media. the best NGOs in Rajasthan maintain a large, informed network of supporters who can attract media attention and mobilize events to influence policy changes. Therefore, they have the power to reach out to the masses and reveal all kinds of injustices that are prevalent in society.

Charity Foundations in India - Riju Jhunjhunwala Foundation

Charities are critical in maintaining order in the distribution of relief and aid to lesser-known groups around the world.
